Why do theater as a child? Would it not be better to wait till adolescence?

The years before puberty are capital for the future of the child. Between 8 and 12 years he is in what is called the age of latency: he is no longer preoccupied by the construction of his identity as he was in his early childhood, and he is not affected yet by the transformations associated with puberty.

He needs to live out fascinating adventures; he needs the grandiose.

This is the period when his faculties of abstraction and his ethical conscience are being roused together.

According to the psychologist Jean Piaget, it is at this age that the child can profit most from an artistic formation.
